Describe your average working day.
My role is split between Generalist HR and Talent Acquisition. As I assist both teams, my roles vary from day to day. In generalist HR, responsibilities include maintenance of employee files, administering benefits and references to employees across the business and being the main HR point of contact for all interns in the UK. The main project I help with in Talent Acquisition is the organisation of intern recruitment for the next cohort of placement students. This includes arranging assessment days, preparing new intern contracts, and ensuring recruitment is as inclusive and fair as possible.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
My role is one of the few that allows exposure to every single department within the business. This allows me to get to know all the interns and apprentices across the board on a personal level, and understand in depth how each unit works to form one cohesive organisation. Being able to help such a broad range of employees each day is an absolute pleasure! I also love that my role is split between Talent Acquisition and Generalist HR, as it provides me with visibility of the whole employee lifecycle, from the very first stage of recruitment and onboarding all the way to assisting employees throughout their time with the company. I also feel I have a real level of responsibility, and that I am making a tangible difference to the business at large.
What’s your favourite WarnerMedia film/TV show/game?
It has to be the Harry Potter films! I am also a big fan of Nolan’s Batman trilogy, DC in general and the Lego series by TT games. Oh, and Scooby Doo!
